E! Online reports the following, in regard to Michael Weston's character on the next season of House:

Sources tell me the new character on House, private detective Lucas, has a crush on one Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein)! Apparently, love, like Legionnaires' disease, is an infection that travels through the air—and the contagion is spreading through Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital!

AdvertisingAge reports on the events set off by Hugh Laurie's recent comments about having a Burger King gold card. He didn't have one, but he'll be getting one now.

Burger King got a deluge of publicity after the blogosphere picked up on a London Times interview with "House" star Hugh Laurie, who told the paper his celebrity perks include getting good tables and his "Burger King gold card."

Mr. Laurie was referring to the prepaid, lifetime "crown card" bestowed on a few carefully selected celebrities such as Jay Leno, Jennifer Hudson, George Lucas and Robert Downey Jr. There's one hitch, however: He doesn't actually have one. Some people will do anything to get a free lunch.

azcentral.com has a great interview with Robert Sean Leonard.

Q.: So what drew you to House? Was Wilson the only part you auditioned for?

A.: Yes, I auditioned for the role of Wilson and didn't really know much about it. At the time, we didn't know who the lead was. None of us had seen the full script, and it wasn't called House. I thought it was an ensemble show. I knew it was a procedural. I love my character. He's nice but he's also sarcastic, which is great, because I would lose my mind otherwise. It's a good job. And I'm well-paid. It's ridiculous.

Q.: You sound like you're feel guilty.

A.: I do! Are you kidding me? My brother is a policeman; my sister's an English teacher. When I hear what they make versus what I make, it's ridiculous. I mean, I understand how it works. I can look at Derek Jeter's payroll and I get it: The numbers add up. The team makes this much a year, and he's 11 percent of why they make that much. So it makes sense. But it doesn't mean that it's not ludicrous. Things can be rational and ludicrous at the same time.

Blink reports from the recent Emmy screening panel. This one deals with David Shore and Katie Jacobs' thoughts on the strike and it's impact on the series.

Turns out the two-part season finale was supposed to be the episode that aired after the Super Bowl, but that annoying writers strike messed up that plan. However, series creator/executive producer David Shore said, "It worked out very nicely. It gave us more time to establish the Amber-Wilson relationship."

Korbi Ghosh has a report from Thursday night's panel Q&A with various House cast and crew members. It took place after an Emmy screening put on by the Los Angeles Times. They talked about the season finale, season five and a couple of other, random things.

On what we didn’t see in the season four finale: Robert shared that a conversation between Cameron and Wilson in the cafeteria was cut. He said it was a really sweet scene and was disappointed it didn’t make the final version of the episode. Maybe it'll be included in the DVD extras.

Playbill has a nice interview with Robert Sean Leonard.

When he read "House," Leonard thought: This is really good. "I didn't want to be the lead guy. That's too much work. But I thought that it might be fun to be the lead guy's friend. I'd have days off, and still get a paycheck every week. Hugh Laurie, who plays [Dr. Gregory] House, is remarkable. I lean in the door and say, 'Hey, what do you think about egg salad [for lunch]?' Then I have two days in a row off. [Laughs] It's a great gig."

Signed for three more years, Leonard just wrapped the series' fourth season (re-runs of which start tomorrow night). A month-long hiatus between seasons doesn't allow him time to do theatre. "There are a lot of us out here who are making money, but longing to be doing what we love. Within minutes of the [recent writers'] strike being announced, we were on planes to New York."

Popular Mechanics reports on the fire at the Universal Studios backlot where footage from House had been shot.

Several firefighters were injured as the flames devoured the thin lumber and plastic facades that populate part of the three-and-a-half acres that the fire affected. These sets include cityscapes and streets that are frequently used in movies and TV shows including Spiderman 2, Transformers and House M.D., among several others.
