Here is the preview for tonight's episode of House, from Fox:

HOUSE AND THE FELLOWSHIP CANDIDATES
TREAT A PATIENT WITH AN UNKNOWN IDENTITY
WHO MIRRORS THE BEHAVIOR OF THE PEOPLE AROUND HIM
ON “HOUSE”
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 30, ON FOX

The team takes on the case of a man who collapsed while being mugged. When the man complains of new symptoms that do not fit his initial admission profile, the team suspects he is a hypochondriac. As Mr. X continues to fall ill with symptoms unrelated to his neurological disorder, Foreman and the remaining six fellows are assigned to keep watch, and are bemused as they see their own behavioral idiosyncrasies reflected through him. As they attempt to diagnose this human chameleon, they seem to learn more about themselves than their patient, whose true identity is a mystery. Meanwhile, Cameron and Chase keep a running pool on whom House might cut next from the team of candidates, and Foreman engages in a power struggle with House and Cuddy in the “Mirror Mirror” episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, Oct. 30 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOU-405) (TV-14 D, L)

Richard Clune at The Daily Telegraph has an interview with Hugh Laurie.

HUGH Laurie is at odds with a line in the script. Oblivious to the cast, crew and occasional visitor, Laurie's lithe frame paces through the rooms of the fictitious Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, home to his cantankerous, albeit brilliant, small screen alter ego, Dr Gregory House.

Hand on chin, deep in thought, Laurie eventually expresses his concerns to writer Eli Attie.

Their discussion is brief, the line cut, then Laurie returns to filming.

Variety is reporting that Hugh Laurie left L.A. rather abruptly yesterday, heading home to the U.K. due to family obligations.

"Hugh had family obligations in England to attend to, but production is continuing in his absence," a rep for show producer Universal Media Studios said, adding that, per producers, Laurie "asked for time off and they were happy to facilitate it."

Hopefully everything is alright.

Back to new episodes. Here is the preview for tonight's episode of House, titled "Guardian Angels":

THE REMAINING SEVEN CANDIDATES TREAT A PATIENT
WHO BELIEVES SHE CAN TALK TO THE DEAD
ON “HOUSE”
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23, ON FOX

When a 20-year-old funeral home cosmetician, Irene, has a massive seizure, she hallucinates that the cadavers in the funeral home have come to life, House and the remaining seven fellowship candidates must figure out why. As the team runs tests, they realize Irene is carrying on conversations with her long-deceased mother, who she believes is sitting in the room with her. Thinking something in the funeral home may have made Irene sick, House sends the candidates on some less-than-desirable investigative missions, one of which involves a visit to a graveyard. As Irene’s symptoms become more life-threatening and her ghostly visions more vivid, House surmises that connecting with Irene’s dead mother might be the best route to diagnosing her illness. Meanwhile, Foreman finds his “House-like” reputation has preceded him as he interviews for a new job, and House must narrow down the candidates from seven to six in the “Guardian Angels” episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, Oct. 23 (9:00–10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOU-404) (TV-TBA)

Despite previous reports, according to a USA Today article discussing this series' story line, House executive producer Katie Jacobs says that the new doctors have not yet been selected.

Jacobs says "two or three" will remain, but who they are "has not been decided. (Reporters) seem to know more about things than we do — and before we do."

The New York Times also has an article about the story line, contrasting it with the one that fellow Fox series Prison Break has had and the resulting effects.

Kal Penn will be speaking at the E. Desmond Lee Concert Hall at the Washington University of St. Louis on October 25 at 4:00 PM.

In his talk, "An Afternoon with Kal Penn," he will examine how popular culture can change perceptions and how it demands participation from the audience.

He will give a glimpse into the entertainment industry, which he says remains full of prejudices, archaic politics and misguided casting directors.

The event is free and open to the public.

The October 22 issue of TV Guide confirms that Kal Penn, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson will be the 3 doctors who stick around. Like I said before, that seems pretty good. I like Penn's character and Wilde's characters seems interesting - I'm a bit undecided there. Not sure about Jacobson. We'll see.

Kal Penn will be honored at an Asian American Arts Alliance gala on October 16. From the press release:

Asian American Arts Alliance (Alliance), a non-profit organization based in New York City will celebrate its 25th Anniversary on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 with a gala entitled "GALAXXY" at the TriBeCa Rooftop. This silver anniversary marks a quarter century of commitment to helping hundreds of local Asian American artists and arts groups in the performing and visual arts to access more funding and visibility for their work. In commemorating this milestone year, the Alliance will honor three outstanding industry leaders who have made strides for Asian Americans in their respective fields.

"I'm honored to be recognized by the Alliance at their 25th anniversary event," says honoree Kal Penn. "Opportunities for artists are rare in any walk of life, so it's particularly encouraging to see the growth of the organization over the years, and their service to the community. Thank you for all of the support and for creating even more opportunities in the arts." Kal Penn is the most visible Asian American actor in Hollywood today with roles in The Namesake, Superman Returns, and the upcoming sequel to Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. The Alliance is also honoring: Eric Wong, Chief Marketing Officer of Bad Boy Entertainment and Senior Vice President of Marketing for Atlantic Records, who has promoted top artists such as P. Diddy, Bon Jovi, and Mariah Carey; and Willa Kim, a world renowned costume designer for ballet, theatre, opera and television who has won numerous honors including Emmy, Tony, and Obie awards.

Just a reminder: as I mentioned toward the end of September, we'd be getting 3 episodes of House to start off the season and then a 2 week break. We've had the 3 episodes, so now comes the 2 week break.

BuddyTV has an interview with Robert Sean Leonard.

Your character isn’t always necessarily so involved in the medical process, so you don’t have to worry about doing all the hands and props with all the crazy medical equipment. Do you prefer it that way, or would you like to get your hands dirty with some of that kind of stuff?

Whatever’s faster, whatever gets me home faster. No, I don’t like learning medical terms and I love the way, I like my character’s job. I like being on the side, I like kind of being the friend who pokes his head in and says, "How ya doin'? OK," and then goes home. To me, those scenes with the four of them doing the differential diagnosis was a nightmare. I was in a few of them on occasion, and I always brought a book. I don’t know what any of them are talking about.

HOUSE DIVIDES HIS REMAINING FELLOWSHIP CANDIDATES
INTO TWO TEAMS FOR SOME HEALTHY COMPETITION
ON “HOUSE” TUESDAY, OCTOBER 9, ON FOX

The final 10 fellowship candidates compete ferociously when House splits them into two teams by gender. They are assigned to diagnose and treat a wheelchair-bound man with muscular atrophy who is slowly suffocating. As the two teams are trying to one-up each other, complications arise when one team treats the patient but doesn’t follow through to make sure their treatment was executed. While the students are busy with their assignment, House experiments on himself to see what happens in the moments when people hover between life and death. Meanwhile, Foreman runs his own team of fellows in his new job at another hospital, and resorts to using a very “House-like” treatment to help a patient in the “97 Seconds” episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, Oct. 9 (9:00–10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Here is a spoiler on what doctors will make the cut and remain a part of the regular cast of House, according to the sources. Their names are below:

Kal Penn, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson.

If this is the case, that seems pretty good. I liked Penn's character and Wilde's characters seems interesting - a bit undecided there. Not sure about Jacobson. Based on what I saw in just that last episode, Edi Gathegi might have been an interesting choice over him.

I don't know why this is all that big a deal, but from The Vancouver Sun:

Television writer Peter Blake, who works on the show House M.D., learned a juicy little bit of news about his boss David Shore, the creator of the show, at the Vancouver International Film Festival forum this week.

Forum creative director Helen du Toit spilled the beans while moderating Blake's presentation. Did Blake know, she wondered, that Shore's father met on a golf course with screenwriter Paul Haggis's father to find out whether the latter could help his son David get work in Los Angeles?

Following that meeting, Shore packed up his law practice in London, Ont. and moved to the bright lights of Hollywood, promising his wife that if things didn't pan out in two years, he would give up his Hollywood dream.

HOUSE AUDITIONS POTENTIAL NEW TEAM MEMBERS
AND TREATS A FEMALE ASTRONAUT WHO SEES WHAT SHE HEARS
ON “HOUSE” TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2, ON FOX

House has relented in regard to interviewing potential team members, but he’s doing it his own way. He has called in all 40 applicants for the open spots on his team (including guest stars Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, Peter Jacobson, Anne Dudek and Edi Gathegi), each numbered individually by runners’ bibs, and puts them to the test in a Darwinian trial period. As he drills the fellows and arbitrarily fires some along the way, he is approached by a fighter pilot named Greta, a candidate for NASA’s astronaut training program. Greta suffers from a neurological disorder in which she is converting visual images to sound, or hearing with her eyes. Knowing that NASA would reject any possibility of her becoming an astronaut if they knew of her problem, Greta begs House to treat her in secret. Keeping her identity private, House takes the case to his fellowship candidates and pits them against one another to come up with an accurate diagnosis. Meanwhile, House is ruffled when he thinks he sees Cameron, Chase and Foreman in the hospital hallways in “The Right Stuff” episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, Oct. 2 (9:00–10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. iYogaLife has an article on Lisa Edelstein.

The first time I took a yoga class I didn’t relate to it at all. But 9 years ago my doctor told me that I was going to need spinal fusions (sawing the bone off my pelvis and putting it in my neck) for the rest of my life because every few years my discs would go like dominoes. I was in pain so I started doing Bikram yoga. Within 3 months, I was pain-free. After 6 months, I never had a neck injury again.
