03/27: Episode 62 - Top Secret
Posted by Patrick
Alright, here we go. 8 new episodes in a row! Tonight's preview, care of FOX:
THE TEAM EXAMINES AN EX-MARINE SUFFERING FROM MYSTERIOUS SYMPTOMS SINCE RETURNING HOME FROM DUTY
WHILE HOUSE DEALS WITH AN AILMENT OF HIS OWN
ON “HOUSE” TUESDAY, MARCH 27 ON FOX
House is bewildered yet intrigued when he meets his newest patien, John Kelley, an ex-Marine who had saved House’s life in a very realistic dream the night before. House is puzzled about how this man could have appeared in his dream before he met him. Recently returned from a two-year deployment in Iraq, Kelley is complaining of fatigue, pain and other non-specific ailments he thinks are the result of Gulf War Syndrome. Just like the V.A. doctors before them, the team is wary about the validity of Kelley’s symptoms, but since his uncle is an important benefactor to the hospital, they continue to investigate his case. Meanwhile, House is suffering from ailments of his own – he is unable to urinate, most likely a side effect of his Vicodin abuse, and is sleep-deprived. Unable to concentrated on the case, he eventually turns to Wilson for an under-the-table prescription. While administering tests in the sleep lab, Cameron and Chase forego their clinical duties when they find each other (and a bed in the sleep lab) much more exciting. A foul infection shows up in Kelley’s mouth while Cameron and Chase were supposed to have been on the clock, and his condition only worsens as he begins to lose his hearing, sight and mobility. A brain scan reveals tumors in Kelly’s brain that were not there a week earlier when the government doctors at the V.A. examined him. When traces of uranium show up in Kelley’s test results, the teams wonders if the government had something to hide in the “Top Secret” episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, March 27 (9:07-10:07 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOU-316) (TV-14 D, L)

I just wanted to provide an update on the Redeye Character Contest. Although House was able to get past Dwight Schrute, he was CRUSHED by some lady named Capt. Kara Thrace. I don't know who that is, but she also beat my man Jack Bauer.

Redeye is holding a series of polls where TV characters face off, head to head, with one of them eventually being crowned the best character on TV. Dr. House has already defeated Dr. J.D. Dorian from "Scrubs" and Veronica Mars from ... well... "Veronica Mars".
He's now facing Dwight Schrute from "The Office". And he's currently leading with 51.5% of the vote (11227 votes vs. 10568 responses votes). So, head over and vote.

From Daily Mail:
"I'm not proud to say that I punched a door recently.
"The sheer volume of work, my struggles with the American accent, trying to keep the energy up for 12-14 hour stretches, can be draining and overwhelming." ...
"If this had happened ten years ago, when my kids were small, it would have been very easy maybe to just yank them out of school and put them in school here.
"It's tragic - I'm an absentee father. But now they're teenagers and they've got their own life and it's tough to drag them out.
"We continue to look for signs that would allow us to be together."

Well... it's been 3 weeks... so, yeah, time for a new episode! Tonight's preview (you have been warned) from House:
HOUSE ENCOUNTERS A BRAIN-DAMAGED MUSICAL PRODIGY
WITH INEXPLICABLE ABILITIES WHILE THE TEAM
FACES SERIOUS CONCERNS ABOUT HOUSE’S OWN HEALTH
ON “HOUSE”
TUESDAY, MARCH 6 ON FOX
Recording Artist and Actor Dave Matthews Guest-Stars as Savant
with Severe Neurological Impairment
Kurtwood Smith Guest-Stars
Patrick Obyedkov (guest star Dave Matthews), a 35-year-old musical savant, is in the middle of playing a piano concert when he suffers a painful involuntary muscle contraction in his left hand. After Patrick is admitted to Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital with a rare movement disorder, his case attracts the attention of Dr. House. House learns from Patrick’s father, Dr. Obyedkov (guest star Kurtwood Smith), that Patrick suffered severe brain damage at age 10 from a bus accident that also killed his mother. House is intrigued as to why Patrick, who was a healthy 10-year-old at the time of his accident with no prior musical training, could suddenly play the piano flawlessly after suffering a severe injury. He pushes for further testing on Patrick’s brain even though the team has diagnosed him with a simple muscle-contraction problem. While trying to deduce the origin of the brain rewiring responsible for Patrick’s mysterious gift of music, House and his team must stop the deadly bleeding that is quickly threatening his life. Patrick’s condition worsens as he suffers an onset of seizures, and as the team attempts to stabilize him, House presents a very difficult option to Patrick’s father – a neurological procedure that would change Patrick’s life forever. In the meantime, Cameron discovers that House has been in contact with a hospital in Massachusetts and suspects that House may be looking to take a new job there. When Cuddy contacts the hospital, she learns that House has been in contact with a brain cancer specialist – not as a job applicant, but as a patient for a clinical trial. When confronted by his team, House denies the gravity of the situation and resents their interference, and they are forced to contend with the possibility his condition may be more serious than he’s letting on in the “Half-Wit” episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, March 6 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOU-315) (TV-14 L)

Diane Kristine at Blogcritics has a great interview with Katie Jacobs. Lots of interesting stuff, but here are a couple things:
See more on Jane Adams at IMDB.
She's particularly excited right now because they're preparing the first House soundtrack CD. It will contain songs from all three seasons, plus a couple of tracks covered by star Hugh Laurie's Band From TV, which also boasts Greg Grunberg of Heroes, James Denton of Desperate Housewives, Bonnie Somerville of Kitchen Confidential, and Bob Guiney of The Bachelor. When we talked, Jacobs wasn't sure if the rights had been secured yet for Elvis Costello's rendition of Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful," which he recorded specifically for the show, but she is hopeful it will be included — as will be fans who have hunted for the elusive track since "Autopsy" aired. ...
Her other bit of news was the just-finalized casting of Jane Adams as Wilson's second ex-wife in an upcoming episode. A Tony-award winner, as is Robert Sean Leonard, Adams is probably best known as Niles' second ex-wife on Frasier. Chances are she's going to be playing a needy character, in keeping with Wilson's history.
